From the airport take the N2 towards Cape Town and don’t take the M5 but rather continue until you reach the mountain and then bear left onto the M3, towards Constantia and Muizenberg. Continue straight until you can go no further without turning left or right at traffic lights. Turn right here onto Steenberg Road towards Tokai, Noordhoek and Ou Kaapse Weg. After a further set of lights take the left filter onto Ou Kaapse Weg, a stunning drive over the mountain.
Come down the other side of the mountain - this is Noordhoek Valley - and go straight through the next set of lights (to the right is Longbeach Mall [great shops including supermarkets Pick and Pay and Woollies]) to the major four-way traffic light at the far side of the valley, where left goes to Fish Hoek, straight to Simon’s Town, and right to Kommetjie. Turn right to Kommetjie, a seven-minute drive away. After you pass the second set of traffic lights (with Imhoff Farm on your right) you pass the turning to Scarborough and Cape Point on your left. Then take the next right, which is Wireless Road, and then, after some green belt, first right again into Riverside Drive. Longbeach Lodge is number 19, a little way down on the left.
If you’re coming from Cape Town and provided Chapmans Peak Drive is open (check first) you’d best take the scenic route through Camps Bay, along the coast to Llandudno, Hout Bay and onto the world famous Chapmans Peak Drive to Noordhoek. Turn right at the t-junction about 2km further on the far side, then follow the directions, as above, from Noordhoek Valley.
